Kamal is the most misunderstood actor - Santhanabharathi


Santhanabharathi needs no introduction as he has given many hits as director for decades like Chinna mapla, Michael Mathana Kamarajan, Guna. In addition to being as a director he has also acted in many movies in all characters raning from Villain to comedian. In his recent interview he shares many things about his knowledge on Cinema.

Santhanabharathi said that he is interested more in directing different movies instead of masala movies. When he was asked how he percieves today's directors becoming music directors and artists, he said it is important that directors should have knowledge on all fields atleast slightly. Only then he can extract good works from all. When he was asked why kamal's Guna though spoken much for kamal's acting became failure in box office but the similar movies are becoming hits now, he said it is mainly because of the publicity present day movies recieve through mass media like cable television networks. He also admits that people's taste has improved nowadays and Guna was released much ahead of its time.

He further claims that people today have knowledge about every technical aspects of movie due to exposure to world cinema. He says that talent is hidden in everyone but only when they are given the appropriate chance they express their full talent. When asked about his friendship with kamal, he says he has been friend with kamal since 1970. Kamal is the most misunderstood actor who was often criticised for his interference in every aspect of his movies previously and only now people started realising that it is because of his dedication to every aspect of the cinema. Kamal is more like a brother to me. Kamal has inspired me to do good movies, read good books, see international classic movies.

Dhanush plays the lead in Sargunam's Sottavalakutty

Dhanush the heart throb of teenage girls and the director who has been making major breakthroughs through his previous movies kalavani and Vaagai Soodavaa has joined hands for the first time for the light hearted comedy movie, Sottavalakutty. Vaagai soodavaa fame Gibran will be handling the music for the movie, Kathiresan is producing the movie. The hunt is on for the heroine to pair opposite Dhanush.

The other cast are Vamsikrishna, Naser, Sriman, Singam puli and Sathyan. Om prakash is the cameraman for the movie and the lyrics will be penned by both Vaali and Arivumathi.

Chakri Toleti who has made his directorial debut through Kamal's Unnai Pol Oruvan which turns to be a super hit movie is again reported to join hands with Kamal's next dream project, Thalaivan irukkinraan. Kamal is still busy with his final stage of Viswaroopam making. Meanwhile the script of Thalaivan irukkinraan is being discussed.

Balachander to remake Rajini's Thillu Mullu with Shiva


Radio Mirchi VJ turned Hero, Shiva will be doing the role played by the superstar Rajinikanth in yesteryear movie, Thillu Mullu directed by K.Balachander. This time movie is remade with a different hero but by the same director which takes us by surprise. Shiva has proved his comedy sense through his previous super hit movies like Thamizh padam, Saroja, Va Quarter Cutting, Chennai 28 and the recently released Kalakalappu.

The remake of Thillu Mullu will be produced by Pushpa kandhasamy and the shooting for the same will be commencing from August. The superstar's Thillu Mullu was a remake of Hindi movie, Hrishikesh's Golmaal released in 1979. Shiva sounds upbeat about this opportunity of doing the role of superstar in this movie.
